How much more snow??????

To say that we've had a lot of snow is an understatement...here is a picture taken of our front yard...the first picture was taken on December 7th, 2010, the second picture was taken January 20th, 2011 (click on any picture to enlarge).

I just can't believe all this snow...

Since these pictures were taken we've had

rain, snow, rain, and now snow again...

All I can say is thank goodness it isn't

October or November, it does have

to quit sometime...Right?  Right? 

Ok, wishful thinking as this point...

Anyway, according to the ground hog's in

our area, winter is almost over we'll see!

Christmas is put away...finally!

This is a little late, but here it is none the less so beware of picture overload...

Many of our family and friends have been asking where we put all our Christmas decorations....so I will do the reverse and show you how we take Christmas down at the Finseth house...

I get some extra table space set up, it makes it

much easier to pack stuff up if it is altogether in

one spot...so here I begin

As you can see by the table I have started picking up

all the little nic nacs...there sure is a lot of

them!

The dining room table has most of the

bigger stuff on it.

Down comes the tree...as you can see it's

late so we will leave it for the night

I'll finish in the morning.

Day two...the litte elves didn't show up

last night...darn! That table is still

full..

This table is still full too!  Back to work!

I've still got lots to do!   

Now...all these boxes (39 to be exact) have

to bo moved downstairs into the crawl

space...

We live in a 4 level split, so that's

two flights of stairs it has to go

down...sorry B!

Here's the little door that leads to the

storage spot for our

christmas decorations...

B has a wheeled cart that he puts the boxes

on, and then he can push the cart in and out

of the storage area...

B has to wear knee pads...can't

say that I blame him..

You see it all fits in nice and snug

(See Len...it stays right here, plenty of room!)

Truthfully this Christmas stuff only takes up about

one third of the space that we have under

there...

The final stuff to go into the

space is the wrapping paper!

Ooops forgot one!

The final stages are the outside

Christmas decorations...

they have to be blown up

in the garage so that they can

get dry before we put them away...

I didn't get pics of the rest of them..but

they are put into bins after they have

dried and those bins go into the crawl

space too.

Logan + Hockey = FUN!!!

Logan was able to go to his first Edmonton Oilers hockey game...at first he really didn't want to go...too many people....too much noise...as you can see from the picture, he was not a happy camper and as you can see by the look on Papa's face he wasn't too sure what to do!

But after a little convincing...

All smiles now!

Goodbye Christmas...

Well as we all know Christmas "has come and gone" in the blink of an eye...so much preparation, and in no time it's over...all the gifts are open and Christmas morning is just another memory....

So we will start with getting ready for the arrival of Santa....

Logan and Tyler made some Reindeer food

in school....the label says...

"On Christmas Eve before bedtime,

go outside and sprinkle this package on the snow.  This will help guide

Santa's sleigh to your house because Rudolph will

smell the oats and he will see he sparkles shining on the snow

from the night sky"  

The boys were so excited

about sprinkling the package of "magic reindeer dust" that

we did not get a chance to get pics    :(

Before we knew Santa had come....

Look at all the stuff he left...

we feel so fortunate...

The front gift in the middlewas something special that Tyler

had asked Santa for....a jar of pickles...silly Tyler he

loves his pickles...

The stockings were too stuffed, so there was some spillage

silly little elves...

overstuffed or what?

Logan really wanted a Robot for

Christmas, but we looked

everywhere, Santa did his

best but even he couldn't find

one....so his Mom...Tiffany

improvised....and made a robot costume

it made Logan a very happy boy,

he liked his robot.   :)  

Tyler on the other hand, was not

too happy seeing his mom

dressed like a robot, and asked

her to take it off ....   :(

I think he really wanted to open presents!

Once all the gifts were open...then it was 

time to play...

and play they did....

Christmas night ended very nicely...

with two very happy little boys,

two tired grandparents, and one

tired Mommy..   :)

Then we had Boxing Day Dinner for

Family and Friends  (24 people total)

What better way to spend the day!

There was lots and lots

of food...the turkey was cooked

on the BBQ, the stuffing, ham and

cabbage rolls all shared oven space...

turnips, corn and homemade buns,

along with cranberry sauce, salads and

more desserts than I can even count,

makes for one awesome meal!  mmmmm yummy!
