Camping

B and I love to go camping, now I must admit, that the way we go camping is not like most...we have our trailer set up on a seasonal site about an hour away...and...we have all and I mean all the comforts of home...including satelite TV, yes I know that's a bit much...but when you have grandkids with you and it is pouring rain outside...need I say more....

We purchased our first camper ... a truck camper from our very close friends Donna and JJ, we had a blast that first summer, but we realized that we needed a bit more room.  B hates to have to crawl overtop of me so that he can have a middle of the night pee, cant say that I blame him....

So we purchased a 2004 Jayco 21 ft travel trailer...best thing we ever did, we had a great first summer with it then we found a seasonal site about an hour and a half from our home, on a really nice river setting.  Then in 2005 our daughter announced the arrival of our first grandchild.

Logan was born in January 2006, so come summer, camping was great fun, the camper was just big enough for the three of us, with Logan having to sleep on the table converted to a bed...then in December 2006,  Tiff announced baby number two on the way...we changed our seasonal site to one closer to home....and in July of 2007 Tyler joined our family....

Now, we really don't have room for another body in our camper especially a baby....fast forward to 2008, we decided to purchase yet another trailer, this one is huge....34 ft to be exact, there is 2 slides one being the living/dinning area and the other....a room for the boys, it is set up with bunk beds and the bottom bunk folds out to a queen size bed...the first year we had Tyler in a playpen...but he has now outgrown the playpen and he sleeps with his big brother on the folded out bed....they have a blast and sleep better than I thought they would....
Ready to go!

This is their room, the bottom bunk opens
up to a queen size bed.
The boys just love it....little monkeys....

See what I mean....little monkeys....

We enjoy the peace and quiet that this campground provides...they don't allow party animals...which is nice for us non-party animal types....lol...peace and quiet at 11 pm, I can handle that!

This is a view of Hastings Lake from
an empty campsite....very tranquil

I still can't figure out why food tastes better and sleeping in is not a problem (B and I actually sleep until 9 am...unless we have the grandkids)...must be all the fresh air...

Papa and his boys cooking hotdogs and smokies .....mmmmm.....
We have a very child friendly camp site, the boys have a playhouse, complete with a loft, a sandbox with an area just for them to play in...they also bring their riding toys, they each have a peddle bike, and they both share a battery powered HD motorcycle and a Jeep...I wish I was smaller I'd totally ride the bike! lol....
The playhouse and sandbox area

We have had to pull the trailer out of our seasonal site once this year already due to some warranty work, it was partially fixed, but they had to order in some parts, so we now have to haul it back up to the city once more....that will be after the Labour Day weekend, it will take a week then we can bring it back...then get it ready for winter!  UGH I hate the thoughts of winter.

Logan and Tyler.....just getting ready to start their day

Logan spots a friend...

His friend has been moved to a safer place...
